Moving Rasa Southeast Asian Diaspora Men’s Group
Brotherhood and Belonging: A conversation on masculinity, belonging, and our relationships with queer siblings.
Southeast Asian diaspora men carry many different experiences of masculinity, sexuality, family, culture, and belonging.
Some of us are queer. Some of us are straight. Many of us are still making sense of what we inherited, what we believe now, and how we want to be in community with one another.
This gathering is an invitation to come together for honest conversation, reflection, and shared experience.
We will explore the messages we received about manhood and queerness, the ways those messages have shaped our relationships, and why queer communities are facing increasing pressure in parts of Southeast Asia.
This is not a debate or a space where anyone will be asked to defend who they are. It is a facilitated gathering where we can ask genuine questions, speak from our own experience, listen with care, and grow together across difference.
We do not expect everyone to leave with the same answers.
Our hope is that we leave with greater understanding, stronger relationships, and a deeper sense of belonging to one another.
